Club
Member Meeting Notes for March 7, 2023
For
the record, no minutes were recorded for the February meeting,
which was part of the well-attended St. Valentine’s Day Luncheon held Feb. 18.
The March 7 meeting was called to order by club president Bill
Young at 7:10 p.m. at Fionn MacCools Irish
Pub and Restaurant in Ponte Vedra. Those in attendance included
Bill’s wife, Judy, Bob and Norma Pippin, Erling and Sandy Onsager, Andy
and Karien Sanfilippo, Bill and
Judy Sandefer, Alan Winer, Tony Martini, Jim Gaff, Bill Maroney
and Ron Keysor.
Treasurer Sandefer reports the club bank balance at $$$$$.
Club expenses for the month were $99.89, this
for flowers for the St. Valentine’s Day luncheon
and lunch for the shop
session held at Bill Young’s garage on Feb. 1.
Bill also reported
the club membership stands at 40 souls,
36 both local and members of our national parent, the Austin
Healey Club of America,
and three local-only members. The 40th member’s status
is real but clouded by the usual dues transaction issues experienced with our national organization.
The
club will hold a shop meet at Paul Sandefer’s garage
alongside Doctors Inlet in the Orange Park area
on Tuesday, March 14. Since there were no projects suggested
for work during the
discussion, members are welcome to bring cars for work
they might want to undertake. There
will an email reminder prior to the March 14 date that
may include additional information. Members with suggestions may contact Paul.
Tony Martini, activities chair, will lead a luncheon and
cruise scheduled at 11:45 a.m. at Kingshead
Pub on U.S. 1 on Thursday, March 23. The luncheon will
be followed by a car cruise that will generally
head south between the coast and St. Johns River, possibly wandering west over some scenic roads.
Members were reminded that the AHCA will host its major
annual event, called a conclave, at Crystal
River on the Florida Gulf Coast in May. Members wishing
to attend the multi-day national gathering
should visit the AHCA web site for details. The Tampa Bay
Austin Healey Club is hosting the car show
that will feature a variety of events. Bill Young, a columnist
for the AHCA national magazine, the Healey
Marque, said he will be attending. Unsaid was whether he will be making a technical presentation, which he has
done in the past.
Bob and Norma Pippin volunteered to host the April member
meeting at their home in Mandarin on Monday,
April 3. As most members know, our club alternates member
meetings between restaurants and homes month
to month. An email reminder will be sent prior to that event.
The meeting adjourned at 8:07 p.m.
R.Keysor, Sec.
