President Young made a motion to approve the minutes from the
last meeting and all approved.
Treasurer Paul Sandefer report our April income to be $20.00
from local dues, with an April ending bank balance
of $$$$$$.
Membership Chairman Bill Maroney reported “no change” in
the membership. He did request that all
members check the roster he prepared in confirm all your
personal information is correct.
Delegate Rick Stevenson advised that there will be
a delegate’s
meeting to be held on Thursday 25 May
at the Conclave 2023 event at Crystal River. He considered
attending this meeting, or as an alternate, Bill Young may attend.
Under Old Business:
Member Bob Pippin reported that the installation of a replacement
Lucas generator in his Healey was successful.
President Young reported the Lunch Cruise to Keystone Heights
was a fun drive, with lunch at Orange Blossom’s
restaurant followed by ice cream at the Hoot Owl Farm House on
Palatka. There were seven Austin-Healeys and one
chase car on the 120-mile trip.
Under New Business:
Activities Co-Director Tony Martini scheduled a “Drive
your Healey to Lunch Cruise” to AJ’s Kitchen at the King and Bear Clubhouse (WGV) on 18 May. (Details
to follow).
Member Bob Pippin has scheduled a Shop Meet at his home on
Wednesday 17 May at 9:30 AM to install his new alternator and “dummy” voltage regulator.
This would be a good opportunity
to learn about upgrading the charging system from the
old Lucas generator to a new alternator.
President Bill Young will be representing the St. Johns
Austin-Healey Club at the National Conclave to be held
at The Plantation Resort at Crystal River Florida, 21~25
May.
Vice President Alan Winer and Janis Croft will be hosting
our annual Spring Picnic at their home in
Picolata Florida on Saturday 15 June. (Details to follow).
Activities Co-Director David Morton continues to work
on scheduling an Overnight trip to
Amelia Island. David also proposed a day trip over to Williston
for a lunch cruise in the future.
We will have more information as these plans come together.
The SJAHC and the Jaguar Club have selected 15 July as a potential
date for an all-British Car Club Rendezvous. We
are considering a lunch meeting to be held at the large Pavilion
at Spring
Park in Green Cove Springs.
Delegate Rick Stevenson continues to work on his ’67 BJ8
restoration and always welcomes any
Club members to come over and help on the project.
Member Mike Foster showed us the remains of the piston from
#3 cylinder that had failed. It
seems a valve broke off, destroying the piston. Mike is into
a major rebuild. Stay tuned.
The
next Club meeting is scheduled for 10 July, a business meeting
to be held at a member’s home.
With no further business. President Young adjourned
the meeting
