Saint Johns Austin Healey Club Minutes for February 12, 2026

      Our annual Valentines luncheon was held on February 12th at Fleet Landing in Atlantic Beach. Those attending were Dave & Angela Morton, Daryl & Gail Anderson, Bill & Judy Young, Tony Martini, Paul & Judy Sandifer, Bill & Char Maroney, Jim & Sharon Goff, Rick & Marilyn Stevenson, Bob & Norma Pippin, Lisa & Ben Procter, Mike & Joan Foster and John & Nancy Leenhouts. The venue and food at Fleet Landing was outstanding and a good time was had by all. Special Thanks to Mike & Joan Foster for hosting.

We also conducted our February business meeting during this event. The following are the minutes from our meeting. Meeting was called to order at 2:10 by club president Mike Foster. The mins from our January meeting were approved. Club Treasurer, Paul Sandifer reported that our current balance is $$$$$$. There were credits for $245.00 from dues and expenditures of $168.00 for lunches during tech sessions. Paul ask that we renew our membership with the First Coast Car council which was approved. The dues are $25.00.

      Please welcome our newest member Raefer Hart & his wife Marina. Thanks to Membership Chairman Bill Maroney for this report.

      There was a tech session held at Bob Pippin’s house on January 14th. Bob’s 1966 BJ-8 is now the proud recipient of a new custom made wood steering wheel. Thanks to all that helped but a special thanks to Bill Young for his steady hand and patience in securing the very small screws during the installation. Also, during this session progress was made in fixing Ben Procter’s gas gauge sending unit.
AHCA has a zoom call Tech Session scheduled for February 24th at 7:00 P.M. Submit technical questions prior to the call. Select questions will be addressed during the call by expert technical advisors. ( I couldn’t find any information or instructions on the AHCA website. Perhaps someone could help find the information.)

     John Leenhouts discussed the upcoming Southeastern Classic (September 17-20) in Dahlonega, Ga. This event will be sponsored by the Atlanta chapter of the AHCA. Dahlonega is about 2 hours north of Atlanta. Is there a road trip in our future? For more information go to: southeasternclassic.org.

We will be scheduling tech sessions for March & April. Paul Sandifer needs some help in changing break cylinders on his Healey. And Rick Stevenson just received new parts from the U.K. and could use some assistance. More to follow soon.

     Our March meeting will be held on Monday March 2nd, 6:00 P.M. at Culhanes Irish Pub 9720 Deer Lake Court. Please advise Tony or Bob if you are planning on attending.

     We have a lunch cruise scheduled for Thursday March 12th. Plans are to go to the Wobbly Whale 6460 US-1 in St. Augustine. Should be nice weather and a chance to get our cars on the road. Thinking we could meet at the Aldi parking lot at the corner of US-1 & Race Track road at 11:15 and caravan down to the restaurant. Please advise Tony or Bob if you would like to join in. This is our first cruise of 2026 and it would great to have big turnout.

     Thanks to Ron Keyser for his many years serving as the club secretary. Ron has recently resigned and we are in need of filling this position. Those interested should reach out to Mike Foster.
